# WABak

> WABak is desktop WhatsApp backup software for creating readable local records of accessible chats, supported media, saved and unsaved contacts, and group members.

WABak stores completed core backup records on the computer running the desktop client. Depending on the selected plan, users can view, search, filter, and export supported records. Chat records can be exported to HTML or Excel, supported media can be saved separately, and contact and group-member records can be exported to Excel.

WABak does not read, repair, or restore encrypted WhatsApp backups from Google Drive or iCloud. It cannot retrieve data that was never successfully backed up, and it does not restore exported records into WhatsApp. Users should connect only WhatsApp accounts and process only records they are authorized to manage. WABak is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc.
